About Uplift Dance Education
Our Philosophy
Uplift Dance Education is the newest dance studio in Aledo, Texas. Uplift first started out as a mobile dance studio traveling to preschools and daycares. Uplift has rapidly grown into a studio space and continues to offer mobile options in the DFW area.
Uplift Dance Education focuses on balance, coordination, motor, and socialization skills during all classes, while learning technique, rhythm, and love for music, movement, and dance. Uplift Dance Education believes learning is best through play and imagination. All classes will use numerous props such as scarves, egg shakers, hula hoops, ribbon wands, and rhythm sticks. Our curriculum is centered around developmentally appropriate skills and techniques. We focus on the whole child, helping them grow, learn and develop because the early years are so important.
Classes start as early as 10 months old going all the way through adult classes. We offer single-style and combo-class options. Class lengths vary from 30 to 90 minutes long.
Owner & Artistic Director
Kimberly Gaudette
Kimberly was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs where she started dancing at the age of two. Kimberly soon fell in love with the sport of dance and began training 5-6 days a week. Over the course of the next 15 years, Kimberly trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and musical theater. Through this extensive training, Kimberly was blessed with a number of performance opportunities, including a role in the off-broadway production of the NutTapper, a hip hop/tap remix of the Christmas classic The Nutcracker. Here Kimberly performed alongside tap-legend Regio McLaughlin while performing in one of Chicago’s oldest theaters. In addition, Kimberly has been a selected member of a number of competitive dance teams throughout the Chicagoland area. She has competed in over 35 regional and 7 national competitions all over the country, where she has gone on to win three national titles. Her routines have been awarded judges’ choice and showstopper awards for exceptional technique and outstanding performances.
Kimberly started teaching dance at the young age of ten years old. Here Kimberly discovered her passion for teaching young preschool and elementary school students the beauty of dance, the art of performance, and the impact of teamwork. By the age of 15, Kimberly had students competing in regional competitions and joining high-level national competition teams. Amongst the biggest honors, one of Kimberly’s students was recently named Little Miss Petite Dancer at the mere age of four years old.
Since moving to Texas, Miss Kim has continued to invest in the dance scene in the DFW area. Working with several studios to start or strengthen their competition teams, Miss Kim has created a reputation of creating high-quality, well-trained, disciplined dancers who love the sport.
Miss Kim highlights her greatest accomplishment as the creation and success of Uplift Dance Education. Uplift has been a dream of Kimberly’s since she was 10 years old. In the last year, Miss Kim has transformed Uplift from a fleeting idea to a growing business.
